Janeway lives!

Or else.

I've posted a story challenge at VAMB to resurrect poor old Janeway after she was unceremoniously and fatally slurped in the latest book (using the term "book" loosely). There aren't that many rules (other than Janeway be alive & kicking at the end of the story). If you feel inclined, I would encourage you to consider signing up for the challenge. The fact that I may be provided with extra reading material is just a happy coincidence. Really.

In other news...work sucks. Like a Borg sucking floor. And apparently, that's lethal even if you're stroppy.

Oh, and if you want a cheap laugh. Run the LJ spill chucker over a post containing the word "Janeway" and for extra mirth, include a HTML non-breaking space somewhere as well.

I used to have a life, dammit!

I'll kick in to help with the cost of the TTs and the VCs :) Anything to make it stop!!!

I tried the spell-checker thing on Captain Anyway (hee hee). Don't have a clue about the HTML thingy though...

Sorry work sucks, and that you don't have a life. But you are in good company. :)

Love your pic!

I don't know how to make that HTML thing in LJ either, it did it itself. I hit the spell check button thinking it was publish. I'm a geek guru.

I love that pic of Gromit with an unnatural passion, mainly cause I've convinced myself that it's me. If you've seen "A Matter of Loaf and Death", I tried to get the image of the nuns dropping the kittens, but there was just too much happening in the pic for a 100x100 icon. When LJ gets 500x500 icons though, I'm ready.

I've also thought I could add Freddo Frogs to the bribes. They come in a million flavours (or, at least, they used to).

hee hee I think I like that banner even better!

I don't remember the Freddo Frogs. I was only in Oz once, in 2003, and I did bring back of whack of things for the kids, but must have missed those. What are they like?

Freddos are chocolate. And then, the variations add fondant etc, so they can be mint, strawberry, caramel, white "chocolate" etc, etc. I think they're Cadbury's.

They're big for fundraising here because they sell single big Freddos and they're just the right size for a snack. I'll keep my eye out at work for them at work in the kitchen (people put the box of Freddos & and envelope for the money). I don't think you can buy big Freddos in the shops.

I didn't do the Bob the Builder one. I stole that. I just love it.

Anything to get Kim to write... I'm all for grocery lists myself.
Mar. 20th, 2009 09:37 pm (UTC)
Oh yes, I couldn't agree more!

Nice Betsy!

So, since Kim can (and will) write just about anything (and so damn well), I think it's time for some Chakotay/Tuvok slash... preferably with T's nipple piercings to go along with all that was in her last story. She seems a *bit* reluctant to write TuChak, for reasons I cannot fathom...

Ok, ok, I'll kick in double the Tim Tams and Victoria Crumbles if she does NOT write that! Chant with me.. J/C J/C J/C :)

And *Stanwyck* Betsy too.

Oh My Freaking God! I'm repressing the whole second paragraph of that post, CF. You are so sacked. Not only would she write it, but it'd be flipping brilliant and we'd enjoy it, and *that* is just so WRONG on so many levels. Ewwww.

Don't think all this is diverting me, either, my little folk from Canadia (now elem's got me doing it). I'm expecting you to kick in with a CF Special on this challenge too you know.

Chant with me CF/JC!, CF/JC!, CF/JC!

Kim could write brilliant TuChak, and we'd have no choice but to love/hate her for it. Thankfully, last I heard, she was oddly disinterested :D Wonder if it's too late to change my request to Sira...

No guarantees on the challenge, but thanks for the vote of confidence. :D Elem's been telling tales, has she? Good thing she's a keeper. :) I'm off work another 6 weeks or so (one of which will be spent with Kim, Cori, splv and maybe Delta!!!) When I get back to work, there'll be a LOT for me to catch up.

It's my (dominant) right hand that's out of commission (and I AM a whiner) so not sure how it'll feel. So far, so good, but no promises (though promises of VCs and TTs make it SO tempting!). It's a great challenge! I'm very much looking forward to the stories!

TuChak and Spring Fling?? Dude, that's not even funny. Please tell me you're kidding. Because Sira WILL give it to me.
Mar. 22nd, 2009 10:08 pm (UTC)
Kimmy, I love ya tooooooo much to do that to you. *hugs*

But it IS fun to pull your chain.

AND Audabee is right, if you were tormented so, you'd do a fantastic job and we'd have no choice but to love/hate you for it. :)

She never died, IMO. For me this is just an excuse to take more risks with the character. If you're willing to let her die in fanfic, I'm more than happy to do it. It's the fallout from bringing her back which will be the challenging part. Something Lame&Fucked Books wouldn't know how to handle anyway. So they can have her dead as a doornail for all I care. More Caramello Koalas, Violet Crumbles (and maybe some Azza Avatars????) for me... ;-]
Mar. 20th, 2009 07:51 pm (UTC)
Kim, me old mate, you can do anything to her as long as you bring her back. If you write it, I will come (like Kevin Costner, except I'm shorter). You made me enjoy J/Dr, so I'm looking forward to you making me love J/dead(ish).

Azza avatars? Sure. Er, I only know how to do screen caps kinda, and they don't have "teh sexy" like some of the others can do. But if it helps in the bribing, er, inspiration, the avatars are on the lolly table!
Mar. 20th, 2009 08:08 pm (UTC)
Funny you should mention J/Dr in conjunction with J/deadish. Ahem. *looks over at Cori* But it will have J/C in it.

Azza, me love your avatars because they are very, very funny. elem's shown me a few (I esp. like the ones that move). And I'm all for not taking life too seriously right now. :-)

If you write a shopping list, I'm reading it. Go for it. There's koalas in thum thar hills!

Oh yes, *those* avatars. Right. No wuckers. I'll get my thinking cap on. Any requests? They're fun to do, but sometimes I think I'm the only one who'll get my "jokes". To be honest, I stole elem's from a Buffy one I saw (well, I stole the text, anyway).

Wow! By a happy coincidence, I'm writing something along these lines at the moment! (I haven't seen your post over at VAMB yet.) For the record, I'm actually really looking forward to Full Circle, but between TrekLit and Battlestar my fandoms have been pretty depressing lately, so I just felt the urge to write something happy! :)
Mar. 22nd, 2009 12:23 am (UTC)
Happy urge works for me. Go for it.
